The Little Farmer’s Petting Zoo is located on Franklyn Rd in Westsyde on the North Shore of Kamloops.
I take my 4yr old there often, here is the low down:
- There are public bathrooms and yes they are open now (late May).
- There are food machines there which take quarters and loonies (as there are both types), but what I always do is clean out my produce drawers in my fridge, for fruits and veggies that are getting questionable for us but very much enjoyed by the animals there (p.s. the llama’s name is Bo, yes he does know his name, and his personal fav is carrots!).
- There are large fields, beside the petting zoo, so if you are making a day of it, baseball and/or soccer might be fun.
- If you walk down the side road that’s there, you will find a small playground with swings, teeter totter and slide.
- If you really adventurous you can walk up to the dike (right by the animals, and go for a dike walk or take the trail down to the river, but the river is so high, I don’t know how much of a beach there is right now, but might be worth checking out.
- If you forget anything food, drink or treat wise, there is the gas station right down the road and they have a nice little store – as my son refers to it – the ice cream store.
Have fun!

- Thanks so much Selena for the awesome tips! Now I know all I need to know before we go. If anyone else has a favorite outing or an outing they frequent in Kamloops please pass along the ‘low down’ for us newbies!
