One thing that we missed out on last year but is on our list for this summer is a ride on the Spirit of Kamloops steam train.
The Spirit of Kamloops railtour is a 7 mile/11 km round trip on the CN Okanagan Subdivision mile 3.5 to 0.0 that takes 1 hour and 10 mins to complete from the time of departure until return. Passengers have the option of riding in our custom designed open-air ‘Hayrack’ cars or reliving the past in our 1930 heritage coach ‘ Pioneer Park ‘. Standing is permitted on the open-air cars and moving about the train is also allowed. The train is washroom equipped and has a PA System for safety announcements and the brief narrative presented on each trip.
Operating June through September. Full schedule in July and August includes Friday through Monday evenings with a Saturday morning trip as well. Limited trips in June and September.
