BMO Open Gallery July 11 to August 16, 2009

The Kamloops Art Gallery invites you to enter the Poetree + Photo Contest, which runs in conjunction with the main summer exhibition The Tree: From the Sublime to the Social, organized and circulated by the Vancouver Art Gallery. The contest theme is the tree. Entries must be delivered to the Gallery by Friday, July 3, 2009 at 4:30 pm. Contest winners will be announced July 10. Entries will be displayed in the BMO Open Gallery from July 11 to August 16.

A maximum of one photo and one poem per person will be accepted from Kamloops and Thompson-Nicola Regional District residents. Entries must be clearly marked on the back with the contestant’s name, phone number and age category (either 15 and under or 16 and over), and the title of the photo or poem. Photos may be in colour or black and white, and must be between 4” x 6” and 5” x 7” in size. Poems may be typed or hand-written, and must be presented on a sheet no larger than 5” x 7”. Entries will be reviewed by a panel of judges, and first, second, and third place prizes will be awarded for best photo and best poem in each age category. Photos and poems will be pinned onto the BMO Open Gallery wall. If you wish to have your entry returned please include a self-addressed, stamped envelope.

Please do not submit irreplaceable or precious documents. The BMO Open Gallery is not a secure area, and therefore they cannot guarantee the safety of materials displayed there.
