All of Kamloops is encouraged to participate by dressing the town in RED. Decorate your homes, offices and storefronts with red lights, hang red window decorations, get creative! On January 27th demonstrate your support by wearing red ~ red jackets, red hats, red mittens, red scarves and even paint your face red!
Over 200 athletes will represent Canada at the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games but every Canadian has a place on the team. So show your team spirit and pride by painting Kamloops red for January 27th and support our Canadian athletes.

Kamloops, B.C. – As the 2010 Olympic Torch makes its way into Kamloops on Wednesday, January 27th, and torchbearers carry the flame throughout the city, the City of Kamloops and RCMP would like to advise all motorists to be prepared for traffic disruptions.
At approximately, 4:20 pm, the 2010 Olympic Torch will enter the City of Kamloops along the East Trans Canada Highway. From there the flame will make its way along Valleyview Drive, Westbound from Tanager Drive to the beginning of Battle Street. All intersections along Valleyview Drive will experience disruption to allow the Olympic Torch Procession to pass through.
As the torch makes its way through the downtown core, there will be a full road closure of Victoria Street from 1st Avenue to 6th Avenue which will affect both Eastbound and Westbound travel lanes. This temporary closure will be approximately 30 minutes in length anticipated between 5:15 – 6:00 PM.
The following major intersections will experience temporary traffic disruptions and traffic will be controlled by the RCMP:
Additionally, both the Summit Drive off-ramp Eastbound to Highway 1 (heading towards Valleyview) and the Highway 1 off-ramp (heading from Valleyview) to the City Centre (Exit 370) will be temporarily closed for 10 minutes somewhere between 6:15 – 6:45 PM.
