Never one to be shy about heading out with the kids the other day they wanted me to take them out for breakfast somewhere. It seemed like a fun thing to do so I began calling around to hunt down an affordable breakfast buffet in Kamloops. Which apparently doesn’t exist. The only one I could even find was at the Ramada I think for around $20/person. Since it was going to be one adult and six kids on a limited food budget I opted out of the expensive breakfast buffet and began considering other options (Denny’s not being high on my list).
I nanny for four wonderful children on the North Shore and who happen to live within walking distance of McArthur Island. Since we had on several occasions enjoyed some tasty Press Box fries I figured I would give them a call. It turns out that The Press Box has $5 breakfasts in which you get hashbrowns, eggs, toast and bacon. Perfect.
We walked over and our lovely waitress waited and served me and the six children I had brought along for the meal patiently and with the utmost friendliness. She even came back several times just to make sure our difficult child got a chance to order once he was finally ready. No one in the place balked or seemed the least bit put out by our large family dining out experience and a few folks even came over to say how nice it was to see such a large family.
So the next time you want to take the kids out for breakfast I highly recommend you consider The Press Box in McArthur Island for a family friendly Kamloops dining experience.
