A strong earthy, deep-rooted loving red to represent the parents, and a fresh, soft new-born green to represent the young children (the subtle sage green of Kamloops hills). The red leaves of the logo are the parents: a couple, a mother (pregnant as shown by the 'bump' on the leaf) and a single parent. The children are between them and together the entire Kamloops “family' is centred/grounded by one focal point—family living and unity. As a team they present an exuberant yet simple flower... which speaks to a harmonious life and what true beauty really is all about—our relationships with eachother. The logo also evokes a sense of movement... the action and activity of a family in motion, “doing' things together.

My apologies to anyone who went to the wrong location for this session.  I, also, had the wrong location until the last minute.

For anyone who did not get the chance to hear Dr. Jean Clinton, I will be preparing a review of her amazing workshop and posting it, here, as soon as I can.  I’ll cross my fingers that I can get her slide show from Kamloops Mental Health and that it is up soon!

Until then remember that you, as the parent of your child, are good enough and that your kids need to feel “felt.”  They need to know that you love them, that you care about them and that you support them, in all that they do.  Our brains are continually developing (until we are 18 and older in males) and our environment has a lasting impact on how we develop.  I believe it was said that 80% of our IQ is determined by our environment.  Whether we want to believe it, or not, the things that we do (and don’t do) have a lasting impression on our children.

Here is some of Dr. Jean Clinton’s work:

Get out there and make a positive difference in the lives of your children and of the other children around you!!

Have a great weekend!

Hi!  I’m Elizabeth and I get excited really easily.

Well, maybe not really easily, but… okay, who am I kidding?  So excited!!

That’s me, laying in the snow and making a snow angel.  I’ve got my youngest one wrapped on my chest and I’m outside playing with my husband and my two big kids.  I love my kids.  They are 4.5, 2 and 4.5 months and they, really and truly, are the greatest!  That photo was taken back in December.  What happened to winter, eh?!

I’ve been writing here for a while now…. just sharing my projects and stuff.  I’ve just come aboard to help out and revamp this amazing resource that Krystal has developed.  And, let me tell you… I am EXCITED!!

I’ve been blogging on my personal blog for over four years and I have seen lots of great things on this here Internet.  I have been blessed by some wonderful connections in those years.  My dream, for the parents of Kamloops, is that we really connect and know that we are a part of a wonderful community.  We live in a beautiful city and there are lots of great people out there that are working to make our community, our lives, better for us.  So, let’s do our part and get out there to enjoy it!  Life life to the fullest.  Carpe Diem, I say!  Let’s work together to make the world, in which our children are being raised, an even better place!

Do you want to know what’s coming your way?  Well, I’m planning that we will have new programs and regular weekday posts starting on March 1st.  The 1st seems like a good time, doesn’t it?  So, you can look forward to seeing some great stuff from KamloopsParents.Com!  Reviews, giveaways and fun family-friendly projects… but I’m getting away from myself already… not until March 1st!  I told you I was excited didn’t I?  I’ve got some great people that are joining the team as guest post-ers and have some great perspectives and ideas to share.

For now, what can you do to gear up for the KP re-launch?  Well, #1 is to join our mailing list to get the newsletter every two-ish weeks. #2 is to login so that you can leave comments and enter our contents (whoops, did I just say that?).  And #3 is look forward to connecting with the KamloopsParents.Com community and meeting some great people with Kamloops.

I’m thrilled to be working for you and look forward to meeting many of you, at time goes on.

If you have comments, questions, or are interested in getting involved with kamloopsparents.com, just contact me.  I can’t wait to hear from you!

~Elizabeth
