A strong earthy, deep-rooted loving red to represent the parents, and a fresh, soft new-born green to represent the young children (the subtle sage green of Kamloops hills). The red leaves of the logo are the parents: a couple, a mother (pregnant as shown by the 'bump' on the leaf) and a single parent. The children are between them and together the entire Kamloops “family' is centred/grounded by one focal point—family living and unity. As a team they present an exuberant yet simple flower... which speaks to a harmonious life and what true beauty really is all about—our relationships with eachother. The logo also evokes a sense of movement... the action and activity of a family in motion, “doing' things together.

Dawnica Flatt (Early Childhood Educator and Stampin’ Up Demonstrator) brings you this great activity.

This paper bucket is easy to make and has so many uses!  Makes a great game for the kids to play too!

Bucket Portion

1) Take a square peice of paper.  Here I used a 12×12 sheet of patterend paper. (Fig 1)

2) Lay paper face down in front of you so that it is a diamond (corner at top and bottom). (Fig 2)

3) Fold bottom corner up to meet top corner creating a triangle.  Use a bone folder to get a nice crease.(Fig. 3)

4) Next take right corner and fold over so it touches the opposing side of triangle so the edge is horizontal to top corner. (Fig 4)

5) Now take left corner, and bring to new corner created by previous fold.  Edge should also follow horizontal edge.  Glue right corner. (Fig 5)

6) Next take top corner (only one layer) and fold down so corner meets horizontal edge.  Now fold this section in half, then fold once more so final fold line is along horizontal edge. (Fig 6a-c)

7) Now flip the bucket over and repeat previous the previous steps.(Fig 7- front view)

Shamrock portion

8 )  Using Stampin’ Up’s Full Heart and Word Window punches, punch 3 hearts and one Word window. Now arrange them in a shamrock shape and glue together.(Fig 8,9 & 10)

9) You can attach them to the bucket (fig 12), or if a larger peice of paper is used, turn the bucket upside down for a hat (fig 11).

10)  Now place your hand in the bucket, and put marbles or some sort of weight inside.  Bottom will flatten so that it will stand on it’s own.  Now the kids can use it as a penny toss game and try to get pennies in the bucket.  The bucket will also hold water so it is great for drinking glasses, water play and for camping.(Fig 13)

See all the clever ways you can use this bucket and if you would like to see more of Stampin’Up!’s products or stampin opportunities, visit my website at www.dawnica.stampinup.net.
