A strong earthy, deep-rooted loving red to represent the parents, and a fresh, soft new-born green to represent the young children (the subtle sage green of Kamloops hills). The red leaves of the logo are the parents: a couple, a mother (pregnant as shown by the 'bump' on the leaf) and a single parent. The children are between them and together the entire Kamloops “family' is centred/grounded by one focal point—family living and unity. As a team they present an exuberant yet simple flower... which speaks to a harmonious life and what true beauty really is all about—our relationships with eachother. The logo also evokes a sense of movement... the action and activity of a family in motion, “doing' things together.

Woodland Creatures

April 1, 2010toApril 28, 2010

In the KAC Wilson House Gallery (115 Tranquille Road)
Martin Tuba
Woodland Creatures
April 1st to 28th
Acrylic & Wood
Opening Reception: March 31st, 6pm to 8pm

Highly influenced by cartoons, comics and nature, this new body of work is a different approach at creating art in the sense that he is taking raw material (a fallen tree) and working this material into a visually appealing canvas. “Woodland Creatures” are imaginary beings jumping from the canvas, and are being caught doing what they do best – hunting, gathering, fighting for dominance and just looking plain freaky!**

Martin attended Vancouver Film School in 1995 and completed the course in Classical Animation. He created two minutes short films entitled “under Pressure”, then worked in the industry for a year on the development of a thirty minutes animated series entitled “The Huggy Show”. Martin returned home to Kamloops and has been part of multiple group shows: “Shazaam” KAG (cube) 2008, “Come draw on our walls” Arnica 2008, “More Soup for You” KAG (2009), and “Serigraffiti” KAG (BMO) 2009.

For more information or interview, please contact Martin Tuba at 250-376-6461 or martintuba@hotmail.com

**This show might be frightening to younger children.
