Dionne is a mother of two boys, 5 and 1.  She is a born-and-raised Kamloopsian and a teacher.  When asked about herself and her new business, she says, “I am the mum that never wore makeup or jewellery and now I find myself wearing jewelery all the time!  (That makes you feel good especially when you’re exhausted from being up all night with one of your children)”
Dionne and I were chatting about how we make time for ourselves, as parents and mothers.  I know that it is a valuable thing to have time for myself every day, yet it seems to be such a challenge to get it!  Dionne agrees that “it is important to have time for yourself everyday, even if it is 5 minutes. It makes you a better mom, you feel rejuvinated and become more patient with your children (and husband.)”  Well said, Dionne.
Dionne was filling me in on a little trick that she has discovered, through Lia Sophia, a line of jewelery which she greatly enjoys wearing and demonstrating to others.  Dionne says that Lia Sophia “allows me to do something that I love to do from my own home.  It is empowering and self-fulfilling to look at and wear the beautiful jewelery.  You feel confident and happy.”  Dionne works from home selling Lia Sophia and finds that it is so rewarding because she feels better able to balance all the tasks of home-life while earning some income for her family.   Dionne is enjoying meeting new people and developing friendships with this business.
Dionne is generously giving away one fabulous piece of jewelery (check it out below… Please can I be allowed to enter?) to one lucky reader of KamloopsParents.Com.  All you have to do to enter is leave a comment (or e-mail me, at elizabeth@kamloopsparents.com).  You can enter once every day until Thursday the 19th at 10pm.
