An age-old favourite. Â Julie brings back a great project!!
What kid doesn’t like messy things? Well, truth be told there is a lot of kids who don’t. But for the kids with no tactile phobias this is a fun activity. Even my daughter liked watching it, though she refused to actually touch it. (NOTE: Do not let anyone eat this stuff!)
Ingredients:
1 bottle school glue
1 tsp borax
1 cup water
and some food colouring if you’d like.
Dissolve the tsp of borax into the water. I used cold water but next time I will use room temp so the borax dissolves better.
Squeeze the whole bottle of glue into a separate bowl. Add colouring (optional) to the glue. Mix well.
Add your borax water to your coloured glue. Now for the fun part….. mix it with your hands!
My son loved this part and we had to squish it quite a bit. Drain off the excess water if necessary.
TA-DA!!! Your very own slime! Fun for all ages. My 3 year old son and my 9 year old nephew both enjoyed it.
Just so you know this was not my invention (I know you’re shocked, right?). I got it from an awesome foodie blog called Our Best Bites athttp://www.ourbestbites.com/2010/08/kids-in-kitchen-slime.html.\
