In my first four years of University, I was lucky enough to pay my tuition and then get a nice fat cheque to cover a large portion of what I just paid!  I’m so thankful for that.  I didn’t have to get a student loan until my fifth year of University when I set out on my own.  I was lucky enough to have that because my parents had put some money aside with Canadian Scholarship Trust (CST).  They stored a little bit at a time and the money sat for years; gaining tax-free interest and with every deposit matched, in part, by the government.

If you start putting a little bit aside for your child’s future education before they have even started kindergarten, you don’t have to do much to have it add up fast!!

If you have thought about maybe setting up an RESP for your child, it’s always a good idea to just ask a few questions and get something started.  Hey, even $20 here and there gets matched and earns interest!!

Karen Lanoue, from Canadian Scholarship Trust, is available to answer your questions and help you figure out how to get things started!
