Tania from Grounded and Sound Yoga shares this fantastically healthy recipe!
I enjoy making my own granola bars. I used to try out recipes that my husband, who is allergic to nuts, could eat, but it turns out he doesn’t really like them anyway, so now I don’t have to worry about nuttiness. I have so loosely adapted this recipe, from so many sites, that I don’t even know how to credit it, but these things pack a punch! Tonnes of dietary fibre (good for new moms), omega fatty acids (good for new moms), oats (good for lactating moms). They have it all!
So hear goes the rough recipe that I managed to bang out this morning.
3 ish cups oats
4 tbsp each of chia, flax, pumpkin seeds, and some cashews ’cause they were there, ground in magic bullet
3/4 cup of sunflower seeds
more…
1/2 cup sesame seeds
3/4 cup pumpkin seeds
1/2 cup of dates chopped fine
1-2 tbsp cocoa (leave this out if you or your baby are at all sensitive to caffeine)
cinnamon to taste
Combine
Follow the rest of the recipe here
I will be making several batches of these to freeze in a couple of months. They do freeze well!
