Kamloops Symphony’s largest fundraiser is back at Sahali Mall for spring. Barb’s Used Book and Music Sale will return April 9 – 23, 2016.
This semi-annual sale has been successful due to its convenient location, highly organized donations of books and music, and dedicated volunteers. Their partnerships in the community also add to the sale’s success such as the donated use of space at Sahali Mall.
“We are so grateful for the fantastic community support for this sale, our most important fundraiser of the year,” said Kathy Humphreys, Kamloops Symphony’s Executive Director. “The great thing about this sale is that everyone benefits. Donors can feel good knowing that the books and music they no longer need will be re-used, customers can access good quality items at low prices, and the Kamloops Symphony raises much-needed funds.”
Kamloops Symphony accepts donations of gently used books, sheet music, records and CDs on a continual basis that are kept in a donated storage space until sale time. These valuable donations are sold for as low as $2 per item, making it very affordable for shoppers to stock up for their summer reading.
Last year the fall and spring sale raised $65,000 which goes towards the Kamloops Symphony’s operating expenses. Those expenses include everything from concert productions to renting their office and music school space.
Kamloops Symphony volunteers will be accepting donations at the mall beginning April 5, and during the two-week sale April 9 – 23. Shoppers are encouraged to stop in a few times during the sale to find even more bargains, as the donations keep coming in.
