March 9-17, 2018
Old Courthouse Cultural Centre (7 Seymour Street W, Kamloops)
Opening Reception (all welcome): Friday, March 9, 5-8pm
Looking for original, affordable artwork? Be sure to visit the Kamloops Arts Council’s Art Exposed Regional Exhibition, running March 9-17, 2018.
The exhibit kicks off Friday, March 9 with an Opening Reception — all welcome — from 5-8pm, featuring refreshments and local wine (cash bar).
“Each year, visitors remark they are amazed at the variety of artwork available and that the quality of the exhibition just keeps getting better,” says Lorel Sternig, Kamloops Arts Council events and programs manager.
This year, Art Exposed features works by more than 135 regional artists, from youth to senior. Unique to the TNRD, Art Exposed is open; area residents have been invited to submit artwork in any medium – 2D and 3D. All work will be displayed at the Kamloops Old Courthouse for the duration of the exhibit.
Over $1100 in cash prizes will be awarded at the Opening Reception. This year’s jurors are visual artist Tim Francis, local artist Christine Beaton and artist / co-owner of 4Cats Arts Studio Michael O’Brien.
New this year is a special $500 #BCStrong prize sponsored by the TNRD to commemorate the 2017 wildfires. People’s Choice and Artist’s Choice will be awarded at the end of the exhibit.
As the Kamloops Arts Council celebrates 50 years in 2018, watch for special anniversary celebrations at Art Exposed too.
