A strong earthy, deep-rooted loving red to represent the parents, and a fresh, soft new-born green to represent the young children (the subtle sage green of Kamloops hills). The red leaves of the logo are the parents: a couple, a mother (pregnant as shown by the 'bump' on the leaf) and a single parent. The children are between them and together the entire Kamloops family' is centred/grounded by one focal pointfamily living and unity. As a team they present an exuberant yet simple flower... which speaks to a harmonious life and what true beauty really is all aboutour relationships with eachother. The logo also evokes a sense of movement... the action and activity of a family in motion, doing' things together.

It was the calmest birthday party I’ve ever attended.  Seven three and four year-olds, gifts, cake, dressup, princesses, prizes, games and dancing….

You think that those things together are a recipe for chaos but it was completely enchanting.  The girls were all completely enraptured and on their best behaviour.  It was amazing.  And also completely adorable.  You could almost say, the party-goers were under a spell!

Enchanted Teacup was the special venue.  The birthday girl’s Mom only had to supply a cake, some juice and guests.  Everything else (cleanup, invites, games, prizes and entertainment; not to mention the adorable location) were included in the party package.  We were fortunate enough to be hosted by two princesses: Snow White and Cinderella!

I was trying to come up with a yummy recipe for the rhubarb in my backyard and I remembered a friend (from back in my Fort Nelson days) made a very delicious coffee cake with rhubarb.  She kindly shared the recipe with me!  Thanks Pam!

My kids were hesitant to make a “coffee cake” until I told them we didn’t actually put coffee in the cake!

I was shopping in Tumbleweed Toys the other day and I came across Sun Art Paper.  I was reminded of my Photography 11/12 class and picked some up to create with my kids.

Check it out…

You collect an assortment of treasures.

Place them on the acrylic sheet over the photo-sensitive (blue) paper for about 5 minutes.

Then, you rinse the paper off and leave it to dry.   It’s so much fun to watch the images form.

*I am having issues getting my images to load but I will try again later.  Until then, you will just have to take my word for it… or try it on your own!!*

We need a little more practice but what a fun activity for a sunny afternoon!
