What would you say if I told you that you didn’t need to use any detergent when you washed your dirty laundry? Â That it would come out clean?! Â Â What if I told you that you could put a little green ball into your washer, run your cycle as normal and you would have clean clothes?
You’d probably think I was crazy. Â Well, maybe I am? But just a little. Â However, there is some truth to the previous statement. Â + READ MORE

This misadventure is brought to you by the Kamloops Momma, herself, Courtney Charlton.
I bought a new pair of jeans last week. Amazing, huh? Okay, so I know that this shouldnât be a newsworthy event – or even a âblogworthyâ event; but purchasing these jeans was a momentous occasion in my life.
No, they werenât the smallest size jeans Iâd bought since high school. And, no, they werenât the largest size either.
So what was so significant about these jeans? Well, they made me a real mom.
Yes, I bought my very first pair of âmom-bumâ jeans. You know the ones I mean, right? – The jeans that fit just a little higher than they should, giving you more of a pear-bottom than an apple-bottom.
Now, I definitely do not want my bum to look like a pear, so why did I buy mom-bum jeans? Well, I am embarrassed to admit that I didnât realize I had until a week later.
How could I possibly not realize it? HmmmâŚIâm going to have to plead âmommy-brainâ on this one.
The fact that I was the youngest shopper in the store (by at least 15 years) should have been an indication. Or the fact that they were on sale for only $16 could have given it awayâŚbut, instead, I thought to myself, âThese jeans must be on sale so cheap because they are too cool for the people who shop here.â Really, this thought actually crossed my mind!
Then a week later I was wearing my new jeans when my daughter spilled yogurt on the dining room chair and, in true mommy fashion, I sat on it. So I looked in the mirror to see the mess and was shocked by the reflection. It wasnât a booty, butt, derriere, fanny, or tush: it was a mum-bum!
I stood horrified for about 2 minutes and then my daughter called me into her room. She too had gotten yogurt on her jeans â her size 3 dark wash skinnies.
So what did I do? I helped her out of her jeans, threw them in the wash, and wiped the yogurt off of my jeans and continued wearing them.
Even after realizing the fashion faux pas I was committing, I continued (continue, actually) to wear the jeans. Yes, I have officially become one of those moms: the moms who think that no one will notice what they look like as long as their kids look cute.
So, my daughter has skinnies and I have mom-bums; she has knee-high pleather boots and I have gum boots; she gets her hair cut every 6 weeks and I havenât cut my hair in 6 months (Gasp! I canât believe I just admitted that!). I am definitely one of those moms.
What about you? Are you one of those moms? If so, you are in luck. Kamloops Momma is giving away a makeover to one lucky momma! All you have to do is send in a picture of yourself and answer this simple, slightly embarrassing question: What is the biggest fashion faux pas you have ever committed? This activity is brought to you by Dawnica Flatt. Â Dawnica is a Kamloops mom, Stampin Up demonstrator, Early Childhood Educator and new business owner with Snug-Glee Bumz Diaper Service (coming soon!).
This is a neat project to make with the kids. It can then be used to present a gift of money, as a gift card holder or the gift itself! I found it online and remember making similar wallets when I was younger.  Your older child can follow the instructions or you can create the wallet and have your toddler decorate it especially for Daddy!
Step 1:
Take a peice of paper 8 ½ x 11 and fold the bottom up so that it less than a third.  (Here I used cardstock to make it a little sturdier but a little harder to fold)
Step 2:
Flip over so that the fold you just created is at the top and fold this part down. Fold the remaining amount at the bottom up.

Step 3:
Next take an exacto knife, side it into the top fold and cut a ½â on each side.
Step 4:
Now turn over and fold sides in about a ½â. (Your slit cuts now allow you to do this)
Step 5:
Fold up the bottom section, fold back the top section. Then tuck the bottom section into the little flap created by the top folded back section.
Step 6:
Open up wallet and cut a âVâ by two slanted cuts.

Step 7:
Fill wallet with Money, gift cards or whatever! Decorate and distress the outside by scraping stamp pad across paper service. Do it in different directions!
