Candace and Andrea from Wild About Party Packs bring you this fantastic party inspiration and a coupon giveaway, too!
Does your little monkey love animals? Then let them explore the jungle or safari with a wild animal Birthday Party! This party idea can accommodate all ages but more specifically the younger crowd and ones who are fascinated by animals. You can easily host this party at home or pack it up and head to a petting zoo or the wildlife park.
Invitations for this party can be as simple as a construction paper leaf or animal paw print that opens up to display your party details. Or if you have the time, try something a little more creative and make an invitation in the shape of an elephants head with large ears and a long trunk. The trunk and ears fold up and when opened it reveals the party’s info.

A couple months ago Elizabeth asked if there were any kid-friendly pop bands that didn’t sing about sex.
My response was a resounding YES! Lots.
New Magnetic Wonder is an album by a band called The Apples, in stereo. You can give your kids a grammar lesson when you tell them. They are The Apples and the music is in stereo hence the comma. It’s more like a sentence than a band name. + READ MORE

It’s December 22nd. I still have lots of my Christmas shopping to do. I’m okay with that.
I’m extremely lucky to be at home with my kids right now and I don’t want to look back on the holiday with a feeling of rush. I am working on my Christmas gifts, in my head. I have planned out elaborate creations and bought expensive gifts, in my head. I have crossed the t’s and dotted the i’s, in my head.
Reality is, I am embracing this time I have; these extra holidaying-days with my kids, my family and friends. We have been enjoying our daily ADVENT-ures and have been having loads of fun. Time to refresh. Time to connect. Time to relax.
As a working parent, these holiday moments are precious. All moments are, really, but often it’s laundry or dishes or getting work stuff done. I want to enjoy quality time with each of my three children individually but often those moments get passed by. We still spend precious time together as a family, but I don’t get to spend as much time one-on-one as I would like.
Time is fleeting and so valuable.
This Christmas I plan to continue to embrace time, as a theme in my giving. Instead of rushing now to buy more gifts for my kids, I am making each of them a monthly date with either Mom or Dad. That way, they will each get a special occasion every month. Some of the ideas are as simple as a bike ride to the local ice cream place or a walk to find some special rocks but each kid will have these treats scheduled in and I am committing to them. It will be something that we can look forward to.
What will their secret date be each month?

I am also planning the same thing for my spouse (shhh…) and one of the things on my list will be a side-by-side massage. If you have someone special that you want to share some time with, I would highly recommend a side-by-side massage. What a treat to get to experience the relaxation with a loved one.  I have been fortunate enough to visit Nicola and Brittney at Aina Massage Spa and Studio Massage & Spa. One hour of getaway. One hour of pampering. One hour of bliss. Brittney and Nicola are both fantastic masseuses and I left feeling like a million dollars.
Another fantastic element to a night out with your spouse is seeing live theatre! Western Canada Theatre is our local (amazing) professional theatre company that plays out of Sagebrush Theatre and Pavilion Theatre. I have a pair of tickets to see the next production, For the Pleasure of Seeing Her Again (showing January 26th to February 4th. Why not add tickets to your gift list? It’s a treat for you and someone you care about!
To enter this giveaway you can enter daily until Friday, December 23rd. You can enter by leaving a comment, here.
You can also enter by tagging us in your facebook status and saying “I want to give the gift of time and Live Theatre with @KamloopsParents.Com and @Western Canada Theatre!”
Lastly, you can leave a comment on Western Canada Theatre’s wall, letting them know you would love to come and see their next production (starring Lorne Cardinal from Corner Gas!).
I will draw a winner on December 23rd after 10pm!
I will scan the ticket and email it to our winner (so that it can be given, in time), sending the real ticket after Christmas.
