Anxiety is an ever increase challenge facing adults, families, children, youth and the elderly. So many of us are touched by anxiety and know how crippling and exhausting it can be. In this group we will work to understand what anxiety is and why it can spin us out. We will talk about techniques that can help when anxiety spikes: exploring mindfulness, sensory and breathing techniques to calm our central nervous system down and give us relief from anxiety.
Every 1st and 3rd Wednesday at The Art We Are in downtown Kamloops we will support each other and talk about what anxiety is and how it impacts our lives, our family, and our community.
February 15: What happens in our central nervous system to cause anxiety? STRATEGY: Deep breathing.
March 1: What is flight/flight/freeze response? STRATEGY: Self Care.
March 15: How can I support a loved one with anxiety? STRATEGY: Mindfulness.
April 5: How do I calm my mind down? STRATEGY: Relaxation exercises.
