Art Duel: Sculpture Wars
May 7, 2015 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
The Kamloops Art Gallery’s Art Duel returns! Come in costumed teams of two to duel in a blind-folded sculpture contest. Local musician Rónan McGrath will set the mood while costumed contestants of all ages take turns climbing onstage to duel two-on-two in a blind-folded sculpture contest.
Modeled after the beloved party game, sculptorades, this year’s duel will require one member of the team to don a blindfold and attempt to sculpt a randomly selected subject while the other team member guesses what the subject is—all in 60 seconds or less.
Participants will be judged on their costumes, their on-stage performances and their team’s ability to both blindly sculpt and successfully identify a randomly selected subject in 60 seconds or less. The winning team will be awarded a collaborative exhibition on the BMO Open Gallery in January 2016.
No pre-registration or experience is required for this free event. Dust off your giant papièr-mâché helmets and join us in our Tricia Sellmer and Ken Lepin studios for an evening of medieval silliness.
