In the days following the surrender of Germany after WWII, the Danish authorities forced a group of German prisoners of war to defuse the millions of mines buried on Danish beaches. LAND OF MINE draws from this little-remembered chapter of WWII’s immediate aftermath in Denmark. It depicts how, with minimal training, the soldiers – most barely out of their teens – are set the dangerous task of locating and disarming their own hidden weapons under the supervision of a righteous and embittered Danish sergeant, Rasmussen (Roland Møller).
