Jodi is originally from Montréal, Quebec but spent a few years in Northern New Brunswick after graduating from University. She moved to Kamloops in the Spring of 2010 with her family and works as an educational assistant. Her 7 and 8 year old keep her really busy as they love exploring the area and enjoying what Kamloops has to offer!

Kamloops Symphony is excited to open their doors for a free dress rehearsal as part of Canada’s annual Culture Days. Members of the public are invited at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, Sept 26 at Sagebrush Theatre. There will be opportunities to meet musicians and Guest Conductor Mélanie Léonard as everyone prepares for Kamloops Symphony’s season opener Masters in Motion Pictures: The Music of Howard Shore and John Williams.

This programme features some of the most exhilarating move music of all time with music from The Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, and Star Wars. Come out and see the Kamloops Symphony in action as they prepare for their evening performance.

Participants will be invited to sit on stage.

Kamloops Symphony Opens Their Season With Popular Cinematic Music

Kamloops Symphony will open their season on Saturday, Sept. 26,Melanie Leonard-020 2015 with the first in their Kelson Group Pops series: Masters in Motion Pictures: The Music of Howard Shore and John Williams. This programme has been designed by guest conductor Mélanie Léonard, known for her innovative repertoire and youthful vibrancy.

Léonard will collaborate with the symphony to take the audience on a musical adventure with pieces such as The Ride of the Valkyries, music from The Lord of the Rings, Star Wars and more.

Kamloops Symphony Orchestra’s last Chamber Music performance of 2014/2015 this Saturday, April 25

The final Chamber Music performance of Kamloops Symphony’s 2014/2015 season will be at TRU Alumni Theatre on Saturday, April 25.

Chamber Musicians - Bach to the FutureKSO Chamber Musicians Catharine Dochstader, Flute;
Cvetozar Vutev, Violin; Ashley Kroecher, Viola; Martin Kratky, Cello; and Dimiter Terziev, Piano are set to perform. Their program, called Bach to the Future, features the creativity of Bach and the influence of Baroque style in contemporary compositions.

The musicians perform regularly with the Kamloops Symphony.
