POWER OF BEING A GIRL 2017 TO BE PART OF YMCA CANADA’S WEEK WITHOUT VIOLENCE FESTIVITIES

Each year during the third week of October, Canadians bond with people in over ninety countries around the world to mark YWCA’s Week Without Violence. A week-long series of community events promotes diverse approaches to creating a violence free world. More than 9,500 people in schools, workplaces and neighborhood organizations throughout Canada recognize this annual violence prevention initiative aimed at making violence a thing of the
past.

12th Annual Conference Seeking Participants from Kamloops

Now in its twelfth year, the Kamloops YMCA-YWCA is pleased to present the Power of Being a Girl Conference, taking place on Wednesday, October 18th, 2017. This is a one-day conference – designed by girls for girls aged twelve to fourteen years old – to explore the challenges of growing up, in a fun and empowering way. Girls are powerful and this year’s inspiring workshop choices, allow participants to explore the healthy ways they can find, keep,
and share that power. PBG includes a full day of fun, lunch, prizes, and two workshop choices, ranging from:

Elizabeth is a Kamloops lifer. Born at RIH, she is happy to be raising her family here.
