Coloured Ice and Snow Forts: Crafting With Kids

This isn’t actually a craft, but it is a winter activity that my family and I enjoy every year.  This one brings me back to when I was a kid, there was a wonderful woman who led us all in creating the most incredible winter forts.  It’s created memories that have lasted me into my years with my own children and we have made one nearly every year.  I thoughts I would share it with you in the beginning of the cold weather, so that you can be sure to create it, if you like!  Also, you can try and add it into your ADVENTure Calendar as you count down to Christmas.

Step 1: Start collecting all kinds of ice cream buckets and yogurt containers from your recycling.  Keep them!

Counting Down: Crafting With Kids

Time is just whizzing by, for me!  How about you?  Before we even know it, it will be December.  My birthday falls on the first, so every year I was given an advent calendar.  I never had the chocolate kind, and now I have quite the collection of beautiful nativity advent calendars.  With my own family, we have a nativity, but I wanted advent to mark something special for our family as well.  So, we built a family-ADVENTure calendar.  Take a look at how we made it:
