KAC art grants deadline is June 15th

Plus Kristina Benson Art scholarship, Julia Appley-Mitra scholarship application deadlines May 31

If you’re a local artist or arts group looking for funding for an upcoming project, or an area arts student seeking help with tuition, the Kamloops Arts Council may be able to help.

KAC Grants deadline June 15th – KAC Grants are awarded primarily to assist local artists and arts organizations (in any discipline) to promote their work or further their education. Funds are subject to availability, and applicants must be current members of the KAC to apply. Deadlines have recently changed and are now June 15 and January 15 each year. The application form is available at the KAC website, www.kamloopsarts.ca.

WCT’s Stage One Theatre School to Present two plays this weekend!

WCT’s Stage One Theatre School’s students have finished THE REHEARSAL. In fact, WE OPEN TOMORROW NIGHT (no question mark).

Not only are these the names of two plays, they state the facts: The 32 students of the Stage One’s Performance Class are ready to channel all their new skills to entertain you with not just one, but two very funny plays, full of hijinks and “the curtain must rise” tension!

Performances at the Pavilion Theatre:
Thursday, May 10 at 7:00pm
Friday, May 11 at 7:00pm
Saturday, May 12 at 2:00pm

Rich Harmonies and Ground-breaking Spontaneity

Our final concert of the 2017/18 season is taking place this Saturday, May 5 at 7:30 pm in Sagebrush Theatre. Russian Innovators presents the strong lyricism, rich harmonies, and striking individuality of Shostakovich and Borodin, two of Russia’s most inventive composers, plus the ground-breaking spontaneity and masterful French-style orchestration of Canada’s Pierre Mercure.
