Exceptionally beautiful music that will change your perspective

The 2018-2019 season kicks off with New Perspectives on Friday, September 28 at 7:30 pm in Sagebrush Theatre, and Saturday, September 29 at 7:30 pm in The Nexus at First in Salmon Arm. Music director Dina Gilbert has described the season as “a celebration of the people and traditions that give Kamloops its special flavour,” and New Perspectives opens with a work of exceptional beauty composed by Kamloops native Stacey Brown.
Also on the program is Robert Schumann’s enigmatic cello concerto, and Jean Sibelius’ great second symphony, which the composer famously dubbed “a confession of the soul.”

Joining the KSO as guest artist is cellist Anna Burden. An avid performer, she has performed extensively throughout the United States, as a soloist with the Peninsula Music Festival Orchestra, the Juilliard Orchestra, Washington Chamber Symphony, the Northwestern University Symphony Orchestra, and the Oak Park Symphony Orchestra, among others.

Tickets for the Kamloops concert are $42, $39 Seniors, $10 Youth (under 19), $15 for KSOundcheck members, and can be purchased from Kamloops Live! Box Office.
