Book Review: Froggy Gets Dressed

Book: Froggy Gets Dressed

Author: Jonathan London

Illustrator: Frank Remkiewicz

For Ages: 3-5

Where to Get it: This book is available to purchase online at Chapters and Amazon.  We happen to have a Scholastic edition, purchased through the school system.

This book was a gently-loved, hand-me-down from our close friends, and we have enjoyed it immensely!  Now that it’s winter, we bring it out even more, as the plot revolves around Froggy awakening in winter and getting dressed for a romp in the snow.  It’s not as easy as it sounds for he forgets various items of clothing – important in the winter – such as socks, boots, hat, mittens, scarf… and underwear!  Eventually Froggy is so tired of dressing, and re-dressing that he decides his mom is right… Frogs are supposed to sleep all winter!  So he goes back to bed.

When I asked my four year-old what her favorite part of this book was, she quickly turned the pages to near the end of the book where Froggy’s mother tells him he’s forgotten to put on… his underwear!  (insert little girl giggles here!)

This same author also wrote several other “Froggy” books, including Froggy Learns to Swim, Froggy Bakes a Cake, and Froggy Goes to School (among others!)
