2016 Kamloops Children’s Arts Festival

Bring the kids to explore the roots, rhythms, designs and traditions
from the four corners of the earth at the 2016 Kamloops Children’s Festival, Sept. 17 & 18.
The theme of this year’s festival, the 17th annual, is “Around the World,” featuring performers and interactive arts workshops that explore our rich cultural heritage.
On Saturday, Sept. 17, families can enjoy a full day of FREE arts activities and performances at Riverside Park. Performers on the Interior Savings Stage include vocal percussionist / live looper RupLoops (Rup Sidhu), Dance Afreaka, the KAC Rivertown Players, and Stage One Theatre School. Workshops, led by local artists and organizations, will include clay, henna art, Japanese block printing, and much more. Western Canada Theatre’s VW Turtle River Race will also be taking place at the park.
On Sunday, Sept. 18, award-winning singer-songwriters Bobs & LoLoreturn to Kamloops for a live performance on Sunday, Sept. 18 at the Sagebrush Theatre. The four-time Juno-nominated singer-songwriters and creators and stars of the musical preschool series Sing, Dance and Play with Bobs & LoLo were recently named Canada’s Favourite Kids’ Entertainer in a nationwide poll by CBC Music. The show begins at 2pm (doors 1:30pm); tickets ($20 adults, $15 kids or $55 for family of 4) are available at the Kamloops Live Box Office. Bobs & LoLo will also be doing a meet & greet following the show.

Jodi is originally from Montréal, Quebec but spent a few years in Northern New Brunswick after graduating from University. She moved to Kamloops in the Spring of 2010 with her family and works as an educational assistant.
