Kitchen Conversations at the Kamloops Art Gallery
May 18, 2017 @ 7:00 pm
An event every month that begins at 7:00 pm on day Third of the month, repeating until June 15, 2017
Thursdays, 7:00 pm
May 18 // June 15
Join us on the third Thursday of the month for a guided tour of our exhibitions followed by a lively Kitchen Conversation in our studios.
Our exhibitions often explore politically- and socially-charged issues. During your visit, you may come across artworks that evoke strong emotional responses, raise difficult questions, connect strongly to your personal experiences, or even challenge your own values and viewpoints.
Through these Kitchen Conversations (so-called because of the great conversations that can happen in kitchens), we hope to open the dialogue up to you—our community—so that we can come together and share perspectives.
For May and June, we hand over the reigns to our Teen Interns and foreground the youth perspective. What issues are important to Kamloops youth? What was it like to be a teen when you were young? What has changed—what should change? Through Kitchen Conversations: Teen Talks we hope to bring all generations of Kamloopsians together to talk about issues important to our youth.
Light refreshments will be provided.
The Kamloops Art Gallery is an inclusive and accessible space.
