Lumière Lantern Festival Parade

The Lumière Lantern Festival is a magical experience. Build your own handmade lantern at one of our workshops, then join in the parade on Nov. 26, winding up with special performances and the Downtown Kamloops Lights in the Night celebrations. Let your imagination run wild – past parades have included a nine-foot dragon, a canoe, a lit skirt, a light bulb suit and tons of wonderful globes. Lantern or not, come and be a part of this magical winter evening in Kamloops.
Create your very own lantern! We have 2 types of workshops:
Kamloops Makerspace Workshops (age 18+)
For building light installations & sculptures

Kamloops Arts Council Workshops
Family-friendly, all ages — children need to bring a hands-on, adult helper

At the Lansdowne Village, Unit 210 (next to Spitfire Computers)
KAC workshops will be hosted by 2 local artists, drop-in, no registration required.
Lantern-making kits will be available for $5-$20 per person (includes instruction). A free option will also be available – supplies are limited, first-come first-served.
Jodi is originally from Montréal, Quebec but spent a few years in Northern New Brunswick after graduating from University. She moved to Kamloops in the Spring of 2010 with her family and works as an educational assistant. Her 7 and 8 year old keep her really busy as they love exploring the area and enjoying what Kamloops has to offer!
