WCT’s Stage One Theatre School’s students have finished THE REHEARSAL. In fact, WE OPEN TOMORROW NIGHT (no question mark).
Not only are these the names of two plays, they state the facts: The 32 students of the Stage One’s Performance Class are ready to channel all their new skills to entertain you with not just one, but two very funny plays, full of hijinks and “the curtain must rise” tension!
Performances at the Pavilion Theatre:
Thursday, May 10 at 7:00pm
Friday, May 11 at 7:00pm
Saturday, May 12 at 2:00pm
See two shows for the price of one! As it is, admission is by donation. All proceeds go toward our Henry Vandenburghe Memorial Bursary (enabling children who have an interest in the arts and demonstrate financial need, to attend future Stage One programs!)

A young teacher tries to pull off a production of Guys and Dolls, but putting a musical together is never easy, especially with a megalomaniacal stage manager, a lead who’s convinced that Wicked is a much better show, and a girl who is clinically incapable of following directions (she has a doctor’s note to prove it). And to make matters worse, there aren’t nearly enough guys to be the Guys. A hilarious and poignant look behind the scenes of a drama club production filled with — what else? — Lots of drama.

It’s the dress rehearsal for the Belvedere student-run talent show and things aren’t running smoothly. The PTA mom is being very pushy. The British act can’t get a grip on the accent. Ian wants to air guitar on pogo sticks, and what happened to the lights?
